Systems Engineer (server-based computing, virtualisation)

Responsibilities
  • First and second level support for our customers and channel partners
  • PreSales support for our customer projects and channel partners
  • Perform our technical trainings in front of our customers and channel partners
  • Provide exceptional technical skills in server-based computing and IT infrastructures
  • Provide exceptional skills in presentations, communications and consulting within complex sales projects
  • Be an effective and outspoken technician for the company, representing the company in communications with customers, partners, and industry participants
  • Maintain efficiently processes for reporting and reviewing progress with sales, engineering, product marketing and product management including monthly and quarterly reporting throughout our CRM system
  • Facilitate good communication, respect, and responsiveness in working with internal organizations

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years in systems engineering positions (support and presales function) in a B-to-B oriented IT technology company with strong focus/background on server-based computing (Citrix presentation server, Microsoft TS, Unix environments and mainframes)
  • Experience in performing knowledge transfer based on technical training to an audience of experienced technicians
  • Experience in server-based computing and IT infrastructure technologies
  • Experience adopting, leveraging and implementing systems engineering processes that ensure high performance and efficiency
  • Detailed understanding of supporting sales to win new business and growing existing business. Exhibit ability to optimize efforts to efficiently achieve systems engineering objectives
  • Experience with digital services like TCP/IP, WiFi, VoIP, legacy terminals, JAVA, streamed media, virtualisation technology, etc.
  • Ability/experience in building relationships and credibility with product marketing, product management and R&D (Engineering) to understand and support sales initiatives
  • Distinct relationship management, high momentum and motivation, flexibility and high self-esteem, excellent communication skills

Education
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university – technical degree; or four+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the IT business related field is required

Technical Skills
  • Microsoft MCSE or equivalent knowledge proven by experience
  • Citrix specialist in latest presentation server
  • Networking knowledge from experience in current infrastructure implementations
  • Proficiency using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and email required
  • Proficiency using a CRM tool

Performance Skills
  • Excellent oral communications skills, written communications skills, relationship building skills, presentation skills, influence/interpersonal skills, customer orientation, problem solving skills, analytical skills, and decision making ability required
  • Good team interaction/effectiveness skills required
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability preferred
  • Technically savvy and effective in working with internal teams, clients and other industry related contacts
  • Able to travel up to 80% of the time

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • A valid driver's license is required.
