IGEL Technology Keeps CSK Auto Parts’ Engine Revving

Phoenix-based CSK Auto Parts is no different. The company is one of the largest specialty retailers of automotive parts and accessories in the Western United States and one of the largest such retailers in the country, with three companies and 3,000 locations in 25 states.

The company is comprised of Checker Auto Parts, Schuck’s Auto Supply and Kragen auto Parts, and offers a broad selection of national brand-name, private-label and generic automotive products for domestic and imported cars and light trucks. According to George Duckworth, CSK Auto Parts’ director of store support, the company needed to finetune its store-wide computer hardware and network. 'IGEL made it extremely simple and cost-effective for us. We looked at several of the larger IT vendors in the market, but IGEL’s service and ability to provide quality work in a quick and efficient manner is what impressed us the most.'

IGEL helped CSK Auto Parts migrate from a dumpterminal environment to thin client technology. This enabled the company to seamlessly update and upgrade its hardware with optimum connectivity to the network. As a result, store managers are able to work more efficiently throughout the day by having access to all the necessary IT applications on the network.

'IGEL thin clients are easy to deploy, which helps us become a more efficient operation,' added Duckworth. Additionally, the thin client technology will enable CSK Auto Parts to enhance its current employee training program and deploy an online training application for new and existing employees.
