Do you need to update thin client Firmware?

Firmware Update
Answer

You first need a local FTP server. There you unpack the Firmware update into a folder or into the root folder.

Ensure that the Thin Client has access to the FTP Server.

You can generally communicate the update settings to the Thin Client in two ways – either via the IGEL Remote Manager or locally on the device. You find the settings under Update. There you first enter the update server as IP address or DNS name. Under that you enter the path to the update. If the update is in the root folder of the FTP server leave the field empty, or enter the corresponding folder. After this entry you have to enter the user and the user password. When using an anonymous user make sure you enter a password. Otherwise the update cannot be carried out.

After the settings are made you can start the update directly on the Client by pressing the Update button. Via the Remote Manager you can assign the Thin Client, e.g. a task to update, or you mark the Thin Client used, open the Thin Client menu with a right mouse click (this can also be handled via the menu bar) and select Update there. In both cases the Thin Client then carries out a Firmware update.
