IGEL Technology: German company is Number One

International, March 21st, 2007: IGEL Technology is continuing its successful course. According to IDC (Worldwide Enterprise Thin Client Q-View, Q4 2006) the Bremen thin client manufacturer was Germany’s thin client market leader in all four quarters of 2006. IGEL’s average market share is 26 per cent, representing continued organic growth and allowing the company to further develop the leading role it has taken in recent years in the booming thin clients market.

Market analysis carried out by IDC showed that IGEL achieved the best results in the company’s history in the fourth quarter of 2006, taking the leading position in the German thin client market, as in the previous three quarters of the year. In comparison to the same period for the previous year 37 per cent more equipment was sold and the sales figures were thus again significantly higher than those of the overall market.

The company itself mirrors this market success. The number of employees has increased steadily from five in 2001 to nearly 100. In addition to the branch office in Augsburg and the subsidiaries in Great Britain (Reading) and the USA (Fort Lauderdale) IGEL now also has representative offices in Hong Kong and Singapore.

“We at IGEL have decided to go for a long-term, continuous strategy which takes the developments in, and requirements of, the relevant market segments into consideration, thus allowing us to grow organically. The current IDC figures bear us out in our approach,” comments Heiko Gloge, Managing Director of IGEL Technology. “In addition to standard equipment IGEL has focused on customer-specific solutions coupled with comprehensive services; professional consulting; in-house support; optimum logistics; individual development and, last but not least, a well-developed, active partner programme. Achieving sustainability for our customers – that’s our formula for success,” adds Heiko Gloge.
