How do I reset my Thin Client back to factory defaults?

Bootmenu / Factory Default
Answer

For a Linux based Thin Client press „Esc“ several times during boot stage, this should be done just after pressing the power switch. You will then enter a boot menu where you select “Reset to Factory Default“ and follow the instructions.

For a Windows CE 5 Thin Client, press „2“ several times on starting the Thin Client. You will then enter a boot menu where you select “Reset to Factory Default“ and follow the instructions. The password here is: 112233. This password cannot be changed. This function is not available in versions prior to Firmware 5.00.120. You can also reset the terminal via the user interface. If you are in the Connection Manager press F2, this will launch the Terminal Properties, click on the ‘General’ tab and select ‘Reset to Factory Default’.

The IGEL CE4 Thin Clients can ONLY reset the user interface. If you are in the Connection Manager press F2, this will launch the Terminal Properties, click on the ‘General’ tab and select ‘Reset to Factory Default’. If, for example, you have forgotten the password you set, the device has to be sent in for repair.
