The value-added distributor Vanquish will start a new series of events in February with its “Breakfast Tour 2012”. The guest companies for the first event, focusing on “Application Publishing & Universal Desktops,” will be IGEL Technology and H+H Software.
Bremen, Germany– January 17, 2012 – Starting on February 7, IGEL Technology, Germany's leading manufacturer of thin clients, and H+H Software will be the first guests invited to join the Vanquish Breakfast Tour 2012. During this tour, scheduled to stop in nine locations throughout Germany, both companies will have the opportunity to inform IT dealers about the new options available with server-based computing featuring thin clients as the universal, economical access devices. These free events will feature presentations by IGEL and H+H and also provide hands-on experience through live product demonstrations.
Application publishing and server-based computing offer numerous advantages. With this centralized approach, enterprise applications no longer have to be locally installed, updated and maintained, resulting in a significant drop in the workload required for service and support. Beyond this, employees can enjoy secure access to their personal desktop from any location in their network. This step also cuts costs: not only in operating the computer center itself and in providing applications but also at the workstation level. In this respect, thin clients are a powerful and economical alternative to conventional PCs. At the nine Vanquish tour stops during February and April, IGEL Technology and H+H will show dealers just how they and their customers can deploy and use these methods to best effect.
Cutting Management Costs with the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS)
During this free Vanquish-sponsored road show, IGEL will show how thin clients are the efficient access device ideally suited for centralized IT infrastructures. This presentation will also place special emphasis on the topic of thin client management. In particular, the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS), which comes standard with IGEL devices and allows fast and secure remote management of even large, extensive thin client installations. It’s a powerful management tool that will help to permanently lower the costs of system administration and support.
Cutting Operating Costs with the Netman Desktop Manager
In its demonstration, H+H will present its new Netman Desktop Manager (NDM) Version 5. With the NDM, Windows applications can be provisioned anywhere in any operating system. Based on proven terminal-server technology, the NDM minimizes both management workloads through centralized application management and operating costs through optimized hardware usage.
In the third part of each event, a live demonstration will show how the solutions from both guest providers can work together. This will be followed by a discussion in which those attending can find out more about these products directly from company representatives.
“The focus of the Breakfast Tour events will be on dealing with practical issues. In question and answer sessions with the guest companies, new opportunities will be identified and practical solutions worked out,” stated Sebastian Schröder, Partner Account Manager for Germany at IGEL Technology.
