IGEL Thin Clients and NoMachine NX
NoMachine NX is a remote desktop software for Linux environments. It increases the transmission speed of the X11 protocol in Unix and Linux. With NoMachine NX, the screen content of a remote computer can be transmitted to a local one – even if they are running different operating systems (cross-platform). The NX server can also forward NX sessions to VNC Server or Windows Terminal Server (per RDP) and further compress these sessions. X11 and NoMachine NXNoMachine NX is best understood as a protocol extension for the X Window System. By means of data compression, NoMachine NX improves the performance of the UNIX/Linux X11 network protocol. NX functions as a proxy system between X server and X client and, in addition to the X protocol, also translates RDP and VNC. SSL encryption (via SSH) is also possible. Support from IGEL Software and HardwareNoMachine NX is supported by all IGEL Universal Desktop thin clients running IGEL Linux (LX) and Windows Embedded Standard (ES) operating systems with the IGEL ‘Advanced’ firmware package.
