The Role

With our IGEL OS and central management service, millions of endpoint devices are easily managed worldwide. Together with 100+ partners such as Citrix, VMWare, Microsoft or Amazon, we enable a wide range of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Desktop as a Service applications. In doing so, we exploit the full power of the endpoints and offer our customers a secure platform.

Our development team implements the entire software development process and is responsible for various front-end, back-end and web applications.

To drive technical and content innovation, they design new software solutions based on modern technologies, such as distributed systems and cloud computing.

As the manager of a development team, you will have a decisive influence on new developments and have responsibility for projects, technologies and software architecture.

In order to expand further and strengthen our market position, we are looking for a Manager Software Developer (m/f/d) in Application Development with a focus on Java at one of our locations or Remote with immediate effect.

Responsibilities

  • You will take over the technical and supervisory responsibility for an existing development team
  • The creation of a positive team culture through transparent communication, coaching and employee performance reviews is one of your core tasks
  • You will take over the technical leadership and further development of the team
  • You will plan and coordinate further training measures
  • You will help structure the software development process and have the opportunity to implement your own ideas in your area of responsibility
  • You will be responsible for products or product areas and will drive further development and maintenance (redesign, refactorings)
  • You will implement software projects (maintenance, further development and technological renewal) in the environment of existing products
  • The coordination of the roadmap with the product management team and communication with other departments (QA, documentation, presales, support, etc.) is part of your daily business
  • Creating software designs and architecture for new software components and their implementation is part of your responsibilities
  • If you work remotely, you are also willing to work on-site with your team on a regular basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics or a related field is preferred, or relevant professional experience with qualified technical training
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in software development with Java
  • You are confident with Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Testing), JPA, relational databases, Tomcat
  • Knowledge of web and cloud technologies (Angular, TypeScript, Docker) is an advantage
  • You are familiar with developing and implementing software designs and service architectures
  • Ideally you have experience in leading a team and projects
