The Role

The technical and creative heart of IGEL beats in Augsburg. Here, departments such as product management, software development and documentation work hand in hand to create the next generation of our software products. As Product Security Manager, you will ensure that our customers receive software with which they can implement secure IT operations. You will establish state-of-the-art security guidelines and work across departments. In addition, you will be IGEL’s security ambassador both internally and externally.

To strengthen our Product Security team we are looking for a Product Security Manager (m/f/d) with immediate start, who will support us in one of our offices or remotely.

  • Threat Modeling for all IGEL products
  • Defining security guidelines for all products
  • Enhancement of the Secure Coding Guidelines together with the Security Engineers of the development teams
  • Further development/improvement of IGEL’s Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Collaborate with product management in planning new security features for the products
  • Further development of the product security strategy
  • Planning, execution and documentation of security workshops with the management and the development team
  • Integration and documentation of product security aspects in the existing ISMS
  • Writing and updating security documentation
  • Planning penetration tests
  • Project management for certifications and compliance tests
  • Security training for employees
  • Presentation of security topics internally and externally
  • Coordination of the Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT)
  • Editing of the IGEL Security Notices (ISN)


  • A very good knowledge of the security of the Linux operating system or software development in Java, a degree in business informatics, comparable training or comparable professional experience
  • Familiar with security models and threat modeling
  • Experience of working to security standards and specifications such as ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz or FIPS 140-2
  • Experience of procedures and tools for finding vulnerabilities in software
  • Experience with measures that increase security in software development such as static code analysis, code review and automated tests
  • Experience of supervising a penetration test or a compliance audit.
  • Experience of using your knowledge of software development to collaborate with the development department
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal
