The Role

IGEL Technology is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to assist with managing all aspects of the financials of our U.S. entity (we currently report under German Generally Accepted Accounting Principles [GAAP] for group purposes and U.S. GAAP for local purposes). The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of general accounting tasks and will support the Director of Finance, ensuring transactions are properly recorded in accordance with the company’s policies.

To be successful in this role, a background in Finance or Accounting and familiarity with corporate financial systems is essential. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with an experienced, motivated team, willing to share their knowledge and experiences to expand your skillset, helping you reach your personal and professional goals. Additionally, while performing your daily tasks, you will partner closely with the accounting team in Germany.

This position is designated as hybrid as for candidates located in the Bay Area, we’d love for you to be able to come into the office once a week for camaraderie and face-to-face collaboration. However, this position may be remote upon request. Due to compliance and tax reporting reasons, this position is open to candidates living in the following states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, UT, SC, VA, and WA.


  • Manage obligations to suppliers, employees, and third-party vendors.
  • Maintain a Dynamics 365 accounting system.
  • Perform extensive reviews of externally prepared accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets.
  • Processing expense reports through Concur.
  • Verify, allocate, and enter invoices.
  • Assist with providing a consolidated analytical review of actuals and forecasts with meaningful insight/information on trends in the business on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Conduct various ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents and records.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Assist with 27 states' annual filings and business personal property tax filings.
  • Assist with German and US GAAP audit, and ASC 606 accounting


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience required.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including proficiency in the U.S. GAAP required.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payables/Receivables required.
  • Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar role required.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of transactions required.
  • Due to compliance and tax reporting reasons, this position is open to candidates living in the following states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, UT, SC, VA, and WA.
  • The ability to travel to the San Francisco, CA, office at least once per week is preferred.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software i.e., Dynamics, is preferred.
  • Skilled working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office - Word/Excel - Vlookup/PowerPoint/etc. is preferred.
