The Role

This is a remote position where the Solutions Architect works out of his/her home office. The candidate is expected to travel throughout the assigned region to provide the necessary consulting and implementations services in an efficient and effective manner.

The Solutions Architect is part of IGEL Global Advanced Services team and operates as a highly-skilled technical and business resource. This position works directly with IGELs Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success teams to provide advanced and in-depth technical solution consultation for our valued customers. The Solutions Architect will provide best practice consultation on IGEL solutions including system architecture, workflow diagrams, third party system integration, and solution implementation and deployment.

Additional duties include documentation of solution specifications for customer implementations, scoping and producing Statements of Work (SOW). The Solutions Architect will develop output presentations from the assessment that will be delivered in-person or via web conference to customer technical and clinical leadership including Directors, Vice Presidents, and C-level executives.

The Solutions Architect is also expected to operate in an advisory capacity and to collaborate with internal stakeholders to bridge communication and knowledge gaps between the Sales Engineering team and other departments within IGEL such as Product Management, Engineering, and Support.

A strong desire to learn and a “can do” attitude is needed. You will be working with an experienced, motivated team willing to share their knowledge and experience to help you expand your skillset and succeed in reaching your goals.


  • Install, configure and Optimize the IGEL OS Solutions.
  • Use of remote tools to assist customers; troubleshoot and debug Citrix, VMware, Amazon Workspace and RDS sessions on the IGEL OS
  • Deploy and configure IGEL’s Cloud Gateway server
  • Implement IGEL’s Management Interface RESTful API for customers and partners
  • Provide technical best practices for partners and customers; build and maintain customer and partner rapport; ensure clear, professional communication between our teams and the customer
  • Maintain knowledge of technology trends by attending trainings and reviewing current technical publications
  • 50% travel is required for this position


  • 5+ years relevant engineering, consulting, or system integration experience with one or more vendors or Value Added Resellers (VARs) in the IT industry
  • Experience with application and desktop virtualization platforms (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services)
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (Azure, AWS, Citrix Cloud, etc.)
  • Knowledge of common networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, 802.1x, RADIUS, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with IGEL stack components: IGEL Linux Operating System; IGEL Universal Management Suite; IGEL Cloud Gateway; IGEL RESTful API Management Interface; IGEL PXE Deployment Appliance; IGEL Asset Tracker; IGEL High-Availability extension; and IGEL Universal Desktop Converter
  • Experience with directory management (LDAP, Active Directory)
  • Experience with Identity management solutions (Okta, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Experience with Single Sign-On & Tap Badge Solutions
  • Experience with troubleshooting and log gathering on both Windows and Unix platforms
  • Familiarity with a scripting language a plus (PowerShell, bash, python)
  • Familiarity with common database platforms and concepts a plus (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL)
  • Industry-standard certifications in any of the above technologies a plus (VCP, CCA/CCP, MCSE, RHCA, etc.)
  • Flexibility, integrity and creative problem-solving skills are imperative to success in this role
  • Ability to be a team player who is influential and builds good working relationships across all levels
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with sales engineers, sales teams and management
  • Ability to provide valuable content in the form of a presentation to many people; ability to use Video Conferencing Tools to provide remote sessions with customers.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and multi-task
  • Be willing to pitch in and be part of the team in all aspects of company life
  • Be proactive and able to adapt to continuous innovations
  • Very good self-management skills, such as personal organization and time-keeping
  • An inner drive to do what’s best for the customer
