Charlie Seay is an EUC engineer for a large, multi-national healthcare company. “We have more than 30,000 thin clients in use and keeping them properly configured and updated is tremendously challenging,” he explained. “Converting our thin clients over to IGEL OS has helped.”
The move to IGEL turned out to be a smart and calculated decision that has paid off in spades. “Not only has IGEL enabled us to future-proof our endpoint computing strategy, they have also helped us significantly improve the end user experience,” added Charlie. “Our users aren’t aware of the changes we’ve made on the back-end, but they do see the improvements in the speed, agility and efficiency with which they are able to access business-critical applications and data.”
Charlie also reports both time and cost savings with IGEL. “The ease of management and deployment, and the reduction in downtime that comes from the stability of IGEL OS, has lowered the number of trouble tickets and alerts,” said Charlie. “Because IGEL OS is hardware agnostic, we are also saving money by repurposing and extending the life of our existing hardware. Overall, I estimate the savings to be 20%+.”

The value of community and IGEL Ready
One of the things that Charlie appreciates most about working with IGEL is the IGEL Community. “They are some of the most responsive and supportive people I know, and I have learned so much from other members,” commented Charlie. “It is a huge asset for IGEL and a game-changer.”
Another area where Charlie finds tremendous value is IGEL’s pre-sales engineering and support. “IGEL engineers have really tamed the learning curve by creating custom partitions to solve some of the problems that are unique to our organization,” said Charlie.
Mind-blowing evolution
Since first learning about IGEL in 2018, Charlie has been following the progression of the IGEL OS. “While initially we weren’t quite ready to adopt IGEL, we stayed in touch and they have always been open to our ideas. IGEL has come far in just a few short years – the evolution of the solution has been mind-blowing and very advantageous for us,” Charlie said.
