Advantages of IGEL Thin Clients
Sophisticated and well-designed thin clients – there’s an IGEL device for every purpose
IGEL offers a broad selection of high-quality Linux-based and Windows-based thin clients for every application – from a simple, basic terminal all the way up to a multimedia-capable premium device. In addition, IGEL has developed the versatile Universal Desktop Converter (UDC) Software that economically converts existing PCs and thin clients from other manufacturers into standardized, logical IGEL thin clients.
Flexibility and connectivity – for technological openness and future readiness
IGEL thin clients have numerous interfaces such as PCI, DVI-I, display, serial and USB ports. This flexibility allows them to readily meet the needs of new and growing infrastructures as well as new technologies and future areas of application. Additional options and accessories such as an IGEL smartcard reader, a USB-to-parallel adapter cable, a Y-cable “splitter” for dualview monitor setups as well as a special connectivity-bar with an additional, anti-theft USB port are also available.
Secure access – keeps your data yours and yours alone
With IGEL’s optional onboard PC/SC smartcard reader you’ll not only protect your data against unauthorized access. You’ll also be able to log on to and access your data from any thin client in the network, integrate the devices into PKI solutions from different manufacturers as well as use the Smooth Roaming function from Citrix in order to transfer active sessions to other workstations by means of a smartcard.
IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) – centralized system management made easy
The UMS suite allows you to remotely configure, manage and support IGEL thin clients conveniently across many locations. The IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) remote management software, which comes standard with all IGEL devices, is a versatile tool that is quickly installed and features extensive, well-designed functionalities that will simplify and speed up the remote management of both small and large infrastructures.
