Accessing Web Services
IGEL thin client solutions available in the Universal Desktop model series allow direct access to web-based applications from a public, private or hybrid cloud. They feature an integrated web browser – including Java runtime environment and critical plug-ins – which allows simple web services to be implemented as well as cost-efficient IT delivery models such as SaaS.
A Wide Range of Application Scenarios
Typical application scenarios for direct cloud access range from conventional office workstations and information terminals, to emergency situations (disaster recovery) through to linking company branch offices and home-based workstations by means of web portals (e.g. Citrix Secure Access Gateway). To facilitate all this, IGEL Universal Desktop thin clients feature platform-independent management capability by means of the Java-based IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS).
