IGEL Launches Virtual Community for End User Computing Technology Innovations

IGEL Community Provides an Online Forum to Drive the Future of IGEL Technology through Collaboration and Feedback

SAN FRANCISCO, March 20, 2018 – IGEL, a world leader in endpoint security and optimization software for the secure enterprise, today announced the launch of the IGEL Community. Available as a LinkedIn Group and an active Slack Group, the IGEL Community brings together leading names in the end user computing (EUC) industry for technology collaboration, best practices advice, resources and more.

“We’ve crafted the IGEL Community to drive participation and innovation on the changing face of EUC,” said Douglas A. Brown, Global Technology Evangelist, IGEL. “It’s quickly becoming the go-to place for the brilliant men and women who use, manage and develop IGEL solutions. With lively discussions and a wealth of resources, it offers a host of best practices and insights for using IGEL endpoint security and optimization software and hardware.”

The IGEL Community is open to anyone interested in accessing an active community of EUC thought leaders and technologists. The community includes:

  • Latest IGEL technical announcements
  • Community messaging via Slack, sharing tips, tricks, scripts, causal chit chat and so much more.
  • Upcoming and archived technical events, meetups and webinars
  • New white papers and key tech documentation
  • GitHub repository of IGEL-related community scripts

“What I always love about communities like the IGEL Community is that everybody who is actively participating does so in his/her own time. That means that you can be sure that they’re adding value and not bringing nonsense to the table,” said Timco Hazelaar, EUC Architect / Senior Consultant, THIPC. “What makes community programs like this so valuable is that they are not driven by money, but by the will of sharing knowledge, and hoping other members can learn something. That’s just the experience you’ll find in the IGEL Community.”

“The IGEL Community is one of the most valuable places out there for EUC professionals,” said René Bigler, Chief Technology Officer, IDM. “It features awesome and fun discussions and deep insights from great minds.”

Among the resources available now in the IGEL Community is the new step-by-step e-book, “How to Install and Configure the IGEL Software Platform Made Easy.” The book is a simple guide, screen shot by screen shot, for installing IGEL software in a proof of concept lab scenario.

The launch of the IGEL Community follows IGEL’s DISRUPT End User Computing Forum 2018 where industry thought leaders, customers and solution providers assembled during events held across the globe in Bremen, Germany; Austin, Texas and Melbourne, Australia to discuss the latest EUC and workspace management innovations. Highlights from these EUC industry events can be found here: https://www.igel.com/disrupt.
