The management team of IGEL always needs new experienced staff to increase its sales reach and to further expand its channel partner support programs. It is therefore constantly being strengthened by new experts in account management, channel sales, presales engineering, technical architecture and training.
Jed Ayres, IGEL’s Global CEO, is widely recognized for the transformational impact he is making on the end user computing industry, as well as the instrumental role he has played in IGEL’s pivot starting in 2016 from a hardware-centric to a software-first company. As Global CEO, Ayres leads IGEL’s seasoned team of executive leaders as the company works to align with the world’s most prominent cloud providers to transform end user computing by simplifying and securing the cloud-delivery of all needed applications and resources.
Ayres brings more than 20 years of technology experience to IGEL and has a wide range of industry experience across workspace management, virtualization and mobility. Prior to joining IGEL, he was the SVP of Worldwide Marketing for AppSense, where he helped the company rebrand and achieve significant growth prior to being acquired by LANDESK. Ayres was also CMO at MCPc, a $300m+ Solutions Provider in Cleveland that achieved rapid and sustained growth and was acquired by Logicalis. Prior to MCPc, he spent six years as SVP of Partner Management and Marketing at national Solution Provider MTM Technologies, a large Citrix Platinum Partner that focuses on virtualization and managed services.
Previously, Ayres held senior management positions at MegaPath, Rhythms NetConnections and GE Capital IT Solutions. He has also held a number of advisory board positions, including Citrix Platinum Council, VMware Global Partner Advisory Board, Hewlett Packard Partner Marketing Advisory Board and the Cisco Marketing Council.
Ayres holds a BS in Business Administration from Sonoma State University and an MBA from San Francisco State University. An avid swimmer, biker and runner, Ayres successfully completed six full Ironman races and several ultramarathons. He resides in Marin, California.
Martin van Os serves as Group Chief Financial Officer for IGEL Technology. In this role, he is responsible for building the financial strategy that will drive IGEL’s global growth, capitalizing on the rising demand for solutions that improve the agility, efficiency, scalability and security of today’s virtual desktop and application delivery systems. van Os joined IGEL in May 2016 with 25 years of financial and executive management expertise. He has served in a range of leadership positions including CFO, Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor and Entrepreneur, and this expansive experience gives van Os a unique perspective on the financial strategies that power a successful business. Prior to joining IGEL, van Os was Managing Director of brille24 GmbH, a leading online provider of prescription glasses with presence in six countries. Before his position with brille24, he held financial advisor and CFO positions with Soundcloud Ltd, Corporate Finance Partners and KKFnet. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the Technical University of Eindhoven and a MBA from the European School of Management. van Os resides in Bremen, Germany.
Chief People Officer
As Chief People Officer for IGEL Technology, Lori Thompson is focused on the company’s growing workforce, striving to create an employee journey that all employees love. Supporting the people experience involves an array of HR services and talent management, in addition to nurturing the IGEL culture and continually improving internal communications. She brings to this role more than 15 years of experience working in locations across the globe, enabling people and partnerships to thrive across borders and cultures. She has been involved with a number of professional organizations and served as an executive board member of her local Boys and Girls club in upstate New York. Lori has a bachelor’s degree in English writing from St. Lawrence University and an MBA from the Bremen University of Applied Sciences. She is a casual runner and happy traveler, and resides in Bremen.
As Chief Technology Officer for IGEL Technology, Matthias Haas develops key technology partnerships and is responsible for IGEL’s hardware and software portfolio. With over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, Haas creates products that are tailored around the needs of IGEL’s customers and meet the evolving requirements of the global market. Haas is dedicated to creating solutions that help IGEL customers run their business endpoint solutions as efficiently as possible. He works together with existing technology partners like Citrix, VMware or Microsoft to provide bleeding-edge managed workspace solutions. Prior to joining IGEL as a software developer in 2007, Haas spent 6 years as a Linux software developer at Linogate, a Linux internet security appliance company. Haas graduated with a degree in Computer Science (Dipl.-Inf. (FH) from the University of Applied Science Augsburg.
Tompkins comes to IGEL with more than 20 years of experience in software and hardware sales. Prior to joining his role as Chief Sales Officer at IGEL, he held the position of VP of Sales, North America. Prior to IGEL, Brad was Area Manager for Red Hat’s Strategic Sales Team, covering Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Before his Red Hat tenure, he held sales leadership positions with Hewlett Packard (now Hewlett Packard Enterprise) and Citrix as Regional Sales Manager covering FSMs and CAMs in the Western United States. Tompkins holds an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Simon owns field, digital and product marketing functions at IGEL. With 20 years experience in the end-user computing market, Simon has helped manage Marketing, Product marketing, product management and Global Systems Engineering for several enterprise software companies. Townsend joined IGEL from Ivanti where he was Chief Technologist and a member of the Office of the CTO. A frequent industry speaker, author and visionary on industry topics related to endpoint security, VDI, Citrix, Windows and DaaS. Townsend’s roles include defining and delivering corporate, field and product marketing strategies. At AppSense for over 11 years, Townsend also served as the company’s Vice President, Product Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in IT and business from Bournemouth University.
With a strong CIO track record of more than 12 years of experience, Sengpiehl joined IGEL in 2019 as CIO and took over now also the role as COO. He came from the HAUFE GROUP as CIO & Head of Software Development where he redefined IT and transformed development to support HAUFEs strong business success. Prior to that Sengpiehl was CIO of AEG Power Solutions and Theo Foerch coming from IBM where he covered several management roles in test & support, development, architecture & planning and as Executive Assistant. Prior to that he founded his own software development startup after his time as software developer and project leader within the BAYOSAN and Albert Berner group. Sengpiehl holds an MSc in Business Management and Computer Science of the Cooperative State University Mannheim.
Nicole Simons is the Chief of Staff at IGEL Technology. Simons is a force-multiplier for the executive leadership team supporting the vision and strategy setting for the organization. Simons joined IGEL in July 2016 and was responsible for spearheading and scaling the North America business operations. Simons has over 20 years of industry experience, and before IGEL has achieved success in various leadership roles at AppSense, MCPc Inc., MTM Technologies, and Prudential Financial. Simons holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from North Central College as well as a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration from Rockford University. She resides with her family in Chicago, Illinois.
In his role as Executive Chairman, Bill Veghte brings to IGEL decades of experience in operating system development and broader commercial and technical leadership in software. Bill managed the engineering and ultimately the business of Windows across a variety of versions and instantiations from from the client to the server to embedded versions as a program manager, as a General Manager and ultimately as an SVP. He led Microsoft’s North American Sales, Services and Marketing. He was EVP of HP’s Enterprise business and was COO for HP. He has advised and served a variety of early and late stage companies from board chair to CEO advisor from Xero to Mural, SurveyMonkey to Turbonomic, View to Venafi. He is founder and managing partner of AthenePartners that partners with CEOs like Jed and leading investors like TA to transform companies and industries. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
John is a Managing Director at TA Associates and focuses on investments in internet and software companies. He has been a member of TA’s Core Investment and Portfolio Committees since 2012. He formerly served as co-head of TA’s North America Technology Group and was a member of TA’s Management Committee. John joined TA in 1997 has more than 22 years of experience in the private equity industry, including having spent more than six years helping the expansion of the European Office for TA. He holds a BS degree, with Distinction, in Mathematics from Yale University.
Stefan is a Principal at TA Associates and focuses on investments in technology and financial services companies in EMEA. He also leads TA’s effort in German-speaking countries across all sectors. Stefan holds a BA degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
Mr Gloge is a pillar of the international endpoint community. After starting with Melchers in 1988, he was made General Manager of their NetCom division, which in 2001 became the independent daughter company, IGEL Technology GmbH. He was one of the founders of the “European Endpoint Forum” in 2002 and later chairman of the working group “Endpoint & Server Based Computing” in Germany’s influential IT industry association BITKOM, where he is still a member of the executive board. A native of North Germany, Mr. Gloge originally studied Computing at different institutions.
Nicolas Helms is Executive Partner at Melchers Group, parent company of IGEL Technology GmbH. Originally from Bremen, he has worked in six different countries on four continents, where he has gained extensive experience in international business. In 1994 he was named Director of Melchers Hong Kong. Mr. Helms has been Managing Director at C. Melchers GmbH & Co. KG since 2000. He was one of two directors who founded IGEL Technology GmbH as a Melchers subsidiary in 2001. Nicolas Helms holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University, USA.
