If you like to know what customers think about IGEL and our services and products, this is the right page for you.
I’m definitely a fan of IGEL products and I've been using them over 5 years now. My team and I have deployed over 2,000 units. I’m highly impressed by the ability to deploy the units and apply a configuration that meets various business needs including VDI, Remote Desktop Services and direct application access via the local Internet Explorer browser. The hardware is very reliable and has a very minimal energy draw which makes it an ideal full desktop replacement.

We have tried several different thin-client brands and IGEL is by far the best product. The Universal Management System makes device management and maintenance simple and efficient. In the five years we have worked with IGEL, they have consistently provided incomparable EXCELLENT technical support and customer service.

IGEL was by far the best option for us for three reasons. First and foremost, their device management system makes my life easy. Updates and maintenance happen at the click of a button and I need only a small team to run IT. Better yet, I don’t have to pay extra for it. Then there’s the excellent customer service. We had special requirements and IGEL was totally invested in developing the solutions we needed. Everything is working exactly to our specifications. And lastly, the TCO is much lower than it would have been had we gone with one of their competitors. The initial costs were a little higher, but in the long run, we’re spending much less. With other options, the “soft” costs – for example, ongoing extra fees for device management—were very high and would have been a drain on our budget.

We’ve worked with a number of different thin clients over the years, but in my opinion the IGEL models are hands down the best thin client devices we’ve used to date. The configuration and deployment of the devices is a breeze and the improved performance is even noticed by the end-users.

Overall, the benefits of thin clients in the Healthcare industry are tremendous, and the thin client roll out alone is saving our company millions of dollars. The IGEL thin clients are more efficient and very reliable, allowing us to focus on taking care of patients. When all is said and done, we’ll probably implement over 8,000 IGEL devices in total. I’m very satisfied with the product, especially since I was able to get all of my desired features and functions in one affordable, easy-to-manage unit.

We’ve learned that not all thin clients are the same – our experience with IGEL thin clients has been vastly better than our experience with Neoware’s was. With IGEL, I know I’m making a sound investment for my company that will last.

In addition to being dependable and secure, the IGEL-based system was nearly two and a half times cheaper than what we currently had in place. When you couple that with lower maintenance costs and longer lifespan of the technology, investment in the new solution was almost a no-brainer. The technology itself is excellent, but what really won us over was the customer service. Throughout the process of selecting and installing the thin clients, our IGEL team was supportive, helpful, and always quick to get back to us.

We’ve found the IGEL thin clients are well-suited for any environment. For example, our lab technologists use the terminals to run blood work, cultures and tissue samples, which can then be accessed from anywhere in the hospital by doctors and nurses working directly with patients. The bundled Remote Management Suite enables our IT technicians to manage the terminals by simply logging into Citrix and addressing issues like creating new user profiles or addressing technical issues – all without leaving their desks.

Simply put, IGEL lets us do more with less. We needed a thin client environment that lets us lower our total cost of ownership. The IGEL hardware itself comes at a very reasonable cost, but its user management tools make a significant impact on speed and efficiency as a company.

The impact of the remote management software is remarkable. Now we can offer support from our office with the click of a mouse. And one click can fix all of the thin clients at once if we want it to. As a managed service provider, we save time by limiting the time we’re on the road, and the result is that the customer saves money in maintenance costs.

IGEL really outperformed the others. IGEL gives us complete standardization and security in our desktop infrastructure, but the flexibility of IGEL’s management software is much easier than deploying desktop policies... it’s a night and day difference. The IGEL is just rock solid. The product is impressive, and it is the only one we’ve seen that can manage all three types of devices: Windows thin clients, Linux thin clients, and converted PCs.
Director of Technical Operations
IGEL thin clients running on Linux and working in conjunction with IBM mainframe and 3270 emulator simply worked better than the competition. The highly successful rollout of 40 IGEL thin clients was the result of outstanding reliability and support.

Central management saves an incredible amount of time. Now, when a branch asks for a new application, we respond: “How quickly do you need it?"
Right out of the box, the IGEL thin clients were a breeze to configure. We can literally mail a thin client to a location, plug everything in, and it just configures itself. In addition, if any questions arose during the implementation process, the IGEL team was very responsive and helpful to all of our needs.

IGEL's management was the biggest difference when we were deciding between thin client vendors. It's usually so cumbersome to do uniform changes across many units, but having a central point of management and the ability to use profiles and layering profiles is really cool. We also really like the interface. IGEL gets an A++ on the management interface.
From a deployment perspective, the IGEL thin clients were a breeze to configure. In the end, it was the ease-of-configuration coupled with the universal power cords that encouraged us to switch to IGEL thin clients. The infield services team is responsible for dealing with a network of computers and data users that are spread across four states, and the UMS software has given us a tremendous advantage. Without it, the services team would have trouble supporting all of our terminals and we’d have to make more trips into the field, which is costly and time-consuming.

IGEL was the clear winner based on price/performance and form factor, and because of their flexibility, open architecture and support for Linux.
