IGEL’s Balaji Subramanian Recognized as 2021 CRN® Channel Chief

The award-winning sales leader makes his debut on the annual list celebrating the IT channel’s most influential leaders

SAN FRANCISCO, February 8, 2021 – IGEL, provider of the next-gen edge OS for cloud workspaces, today announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Balaji Subramanian, Senior Vice President of Channel Sales and Global Channel Chief, to its 2021 list of Channel Chiefs. The prestigious CRN® Channel Chiefs list, released annually, recognizes leading IT channel vendor executives who continually demonstrate outstanding leadership, influence, innovation, and growth.

Subramanian joined IGEL in April 2020, with more than 25 years of experience in the IT channel. Over the years has been responsible for driving successful channel programs for technology leaders Adobe, Cisco, Informatica and most recently, Service Max. As IGEL’s Global Channel Chief, he is focused on several key areas including ensuring IGEL has the right number of partners, as well as the right types of partners, with the right geographic reach and skillsets, who are also focused on customer success, renewals and recurring revenues.

One of the early outcomes of Subramanian’s efforts has been the launch in January 2021 of IGEL Velocity, a newly redesigned global partner program focused on enabling partner success and sales growth through skills development and joint customer engagement. IGEL Velocity is helping partners create new opportunities to grow their business more quickly and profitability. Furthermore, to increase the ease-of-doing business and the partner experience, IGEL Velocity partners have exclusive access to the resources that drive business success through access to IGEL sales and technical training through IGEL Academy, and deal registration, new rebates, new market development funds (MDF) and other programs through IGEL Launchpad, the new partner portal.

“We are proud to have Balaji as a valued member of the IGEL team, and delighted to see him recognized by CRN for its outstanding leadership as one of the IT channel’s influencers,” said Jed Ayres, CEO, IGEL. “Since joining IGEL less than a year ago, he has made tremendous strides in leading his team in aligning our channel-facing teams around the globe through the reinvention of the IGEL partner program, while at the same time winning the hearts and minds of our partners. As a 100-percent channel-focused organization, our top priority is to ensure that our partners are skilled from both a selling and technical standpoint. The new resources, training and mentoring programs now available to IGEL channel partners through IGEL Velocity are helping them to both attract and retain new customers, while increasing their share of wallet with existing customers.”

The 2021 Channel Chiefs are prominent leaders who have influenced the IT channel with cutting-edge strategies, programs and partnerships. All honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff based on their dedication, industry prestige, and exceptional accomplishments as channel advocates.

“CRN’s 2021 Channel Chiefs list includes the industry’s biggest channel evangelists, a group of individuals who work tirelessly on behalf of their partners and drive growth through the development of strong partner programs and innovative business strategies that help bring business-critical solutions to market,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “The Channel Company is proud to recognize these channel influencers and looks forward to following their continued success.”
