The Role

In our Linux department we develop IGEL OS, a Linux-based operating system. Our developers are responsible for the entire development process, from planning to completion, and specialize in areas such as kernel development, graphics systems, hardware support and operating system security. To further expand and strengthen our market position, we are seeking motivated developers for the Augsburg or location or remote.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and development of the Linux operating system architecture
  • Development, maintenance, and integration of operating system components (possible specialization in basic system, kernel, graphics system, hardware support, bootloader, etc.)
  • Ensuring and verifying operating system security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics or electrical engineering is preferred, or relevant professional experience with qualified technical training
  • Experience with software development in Linux
  • Good proficiency in C/C++ programming languages
  • Knowledge in Python and Bash is desirable
  • Knowledge of the structure and function of Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge in Linux support of ARM platforms is desirable but not required
  • You like to collaborate with colleagues toward a common goal
  • You are able to grasp complex interrelations and independently develop content
