The Role

Providing legal support required by the business in EMEA. This includes being a trusted and key legal advisor to the teams, and Senior Leadership in EMEA, delivering, first class legal support. We offer the opportunity to grow with the company and evolve the legal department. The role requires to focus on commercial transactions and involves extensive collaboration with stakeholders, external counsel as well as close partnership with your legal counterpart in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Legal contact for all legal topics in EMEA in the day-to-day business of the European companies of the IGEL Group
  • Draft and negotiate legal agreements covering IGEL´s business (e.g., sales and licensing agreements/EULA, channel partner /distribution agreements, IP and DP agreements, services agreements, NDA)
  • Collaboration with external DPO and first point of contact for data protection topics
  • Support, coordinate and secure sales contract negotiations with business-centric, flexible attitude, collaborative spirit, and an eye for detail
  • Take the initiative to recommend and implement improvements to commercial policies, procedures, and standard form contracts
  • Engage in cross-functional projects
  • Pro-actively provide and support training
  • Operating with autonomy, largely in control of the delivery of the accountabilities listed above both directly and indirectly

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified lawyer (2nd State Law Exam) based in Germany, 3-5 years of relevant experience in a legal department or law firm
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills with the ability to foster relationships and collaborate with internal clients
  • Strong commercial contracting background with experience in drafting and negotiating software contracts
  • Experience with and demonstrated ability to advice in data privacy matters
  • Solid knowledge of Contract-, Competition-, IP-/IT Law and GDPR
  • Business fluent written and spoken German and English skills
  • High level of commitment, analytical and entrepreneurial thinking, and the ability to work on a wide variety of high-priority topics in parallel
  • Team player with the willingness to always move forward proactively
