IGEL is Having a UD Pocket Mac Attack! Visit IGEL Booth #233 at VMworld to see our new Mac Support for UD Pocket!

IGEL UD Pocket at VMworldVMworld US 2017 marks an exciting technical milestone for IGEL. We’re debuting Apple® Mac support in the newest version of the IGEL UD Pocket™, our revolutionary micro-endpoint which enterprises are quickly adopting to deliver our IGEL OS powered endpoints to remote and mobile workers. Now, we are offering this OS capability to Apple Mac computers, giving Mac users the same IGEL OS power we offer x86 Windows devices.

For the first time, enterprises can convert most 64-bit, x86-based Apple Mac computers into an IGEL OS-powered endpoint via the UD Pocket. IGEL is answering the growing demand businesses and workers have to leverage and remote access their Apple Macs for day-to-day work, particularly for creative staff, contractors and executives on the go.

Mac Remote Access

Now enterprises using remote access Mac computers can enjoy all the benefits of IGEL’s superior endpoint security and optimization solution like:

  • Simplified management of all endpoints, including Mac-based devices, via integration with the IGEL Universal Management Suite™ (UMS), a centralized, secure, remote management console.
  • Support of enterprise-level security standards and protocols, including two-factor authentication through external smart card readers or USB tokens, which prevents passwords from being lost, forgotten or intercepted by cybercriminals.
  • Integration with IGEL Cloud Gateway (ICG), which enables enterprises to remotely administer Mac devices and provide secure configuration, without the need for a virtual private network (VPN) or leased-line solution.

UD Pocket and Mac Remote Access at VMworld

A great time to learn more about UD Pocket (and ask Mac-related questions) is my presentation with IGEL’s Simon Clephan at the VMware Solutions Exchange Theatre. Our topic is “Speed Deployment of View and Save Millions with IGEL’s UD Pocket.” We’ll show how IGEL UD Pocket can be used as an onboarding solution to radically simplify access to VMware Horizon View and Horizon Cloud. We’ll also demonstrate how an old PC, a Mac and a endpoint can all be converted to IGEL OS and automatically configured to securely access VMware TestDrive, in minutes. The session will take place on Monday, Aug. 28 from 3:50 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. For more information, click here.

Channel Alert!

The IGEL UD Pocket can be purchased through IGEL channel partners in North America, MSRP $169. Licensing for the IGEL UD Pocket is assigned to the USB stick, independent of the MAC address of the target endpoint. This flexibility to roam from one device to another, along with regular IGEL firmware updates, offers IT organizations a simple solution for managing a diverse range of 64-bit x86 devices and Macs.

The IGEL UD Pocket is on display this week in Booth #233 at VMworld US 2017. To schedule an appointment with IGEL, please contact Nicole Simons at simons@igel.com. To experience the capabilities of IGEL’s OS, UDC and UMS, download here, or request free evaluation hardware
