The Role

We are looking for 2 x Junior Sales Development Representatives (SDR) to join our successful Sales team.  The Junior SDR role is your first step into a career in information technology sales.  and you will receive full on the job training through IGEL Sales University. 

 

As the first line of communication with prospects, you will need to be confident, have a strong understanding of the sales process, excel at researching companies and connecting with key decision makers, converting leads into opportunities, starting and developing new relationships, and setting our sales closers up for success. You will be a quick learner with strong communication skills and with the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Every potential customer is an opportunity for IGEL to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability.

 

This position requires regular outbound phone calling, qualification, consultative selling and tight collaboration with field sales to generate new opportunities. As the right candidate you will be keen to learn, show initiative, be highly motivated, think out-of-the-box and easily initiate an informative two-way phone conversation with prospects.  Through training you will also learn to understand how to assess a company’s needs and cater the outreach to each prospect specifically. Over time, you will be expected to report on qualification and call activity and stay thoroughly informed on all products and the Virtualization industry in general.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently hold a two-way telephone conversation with potential customers.  
  • Create prospect lists by identifying new business opportunities generating. leads & appointments for the sales team (Account Manager) using a number of tools telephone, email, social media and data.
  • Follow up on in bound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities.
  • Be able to provide information for interested prospects, ensuring that they understand how we can help solve their specific challenges.
  • Interact with prospective customers and build relationships.
  • Set up meetings and/or calls between (prospective) customers and our sales executives.
  • Diligently update data into the customer management system, stay on top of your leads, follow-up, and report.
  • Ensuring regular, clear communication with your allocated regional sales team.
  • Self-starter, with high level of motivation to achieve results.
  • An inquisitive, questioning, and curious approach.
  • Desire to creatively solve problems, and a strong desire and ability to move up within a sales organisation.
  • Confident and outgoing when working with others.
  • Keenness to learn in a fast-paced tech environment and a desire to embrace our team spirit – and have fun!

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language, Maths & ICT).
  • Higher qualifications also considered.
  • Experience of working in a sales or marketing would be an advantage.
  • Understanding the importance of excellent customer service.
  • Sound knowledge of software and IT is advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – confident, articulate and professional

**The Reading office is situated next to Junction 11 on the M4 for easy commuter access. Reading is also serviced via train providing fast 25min transport times between London and Reading main station. This main line also provides regular trains from the South West of England. The business park is well serviced by shuttle busses that regularly run between the Reading main train station and the office location.
